WA - Western Australia brings back fond memories of my trip
there a few years ago. I enjoyed traveling around the
different wine regions - tasting a good number of wines not
sold beyond the cellar door. The region's cool climate
produces wines of distinction. Wise Vineyards 1999 Coat Door Shiraz is a nice example of how Shiraz shows when produced from cool climate fruit. The wine has a ruby garnet color of medium intensity. On the nose there is a distinct perfume that blends with aromas of light spice, plum and cherry. In the mouth the lightness of body along with the delicate flavors reflect its cool climate heritage. The wine has fresh acidity and very light tannins. It finishes clean and the flavors linger with medium length. |
