Alicante Bouschet you say? Yes, it's one of the very few red fleshed grapes. Varietal versions of this wine are not unknown but also not often found. Typically this grape is blended.

As with other Wyneland Estates wines I've tasted, I found plenty to like about this hearty red. Not surprisingly, the color of this wine reminds me of ink. When you start with deep colored skins and add red flesh you can picture in your mind the dark black ruby colored core. Tilting your glass you will finally get some light as you notice the purple rim.

The wine shows medium aromas of cherry, raspberry and spice notes that are distinct. The full body has plenty of muscle offering lively acidity and drying tannins. The flavors are consistent with the nose, and the wine has a crisp finish that lingers for a short period of time.
