The Shop Block, planted in 1967 to the prized Old Wente Clone, is the most famous of all of the Dutton Ranch Vineyards. Fritz produces this chardonnay unfined and unfiltered which is noticeable with a touch of haze in the golden color. Aromas of melon, citrus and spice are persistent. These flavors blend well with the nuttiness from the toasted oak aging. Crisp acidity and full bodied contribute to this rich chardonnay. It is developed but still offers loads of enjoyment.
