A Rose with panache! David Girard's 2004 Rose makes me wish summer was just beginning. A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Counoise the wine shows a lovely orange rose color. The nose is full of berry fruit - strawberries, raspberries and even a hint of watermelon. Add a touch of peppery spice and the wine is begging to be tasted. The flavors follow the nose with the same consistent intensity. Not unexpected, the wine has a touch of light tannins and along with lively acidity that makes for a refreshing Rose. All is wrapped up in a light body that is harmoniously balanced. The dry warm finish lingers while revealing the distinct intensity and refined complexity this very agreeable Rose possess. 150 cases produced. |
