Ramsay is essentially a second label of Kent Rasmussen
Winery. True to form, the Ramsay label shows consistent
quality at a good price point. The Ramsay 2000 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Lot #3 is ruby red and fades to rose. The clear vivid color is attired with aromas of menthol, blackberry and a hint of cashew, all wrapped with a spicy pizzazz. In the mouth, the flavors follow through. The tannins are flat to dusty leaving a fine to drying astringency. The alcohol feels a bit thin in this lean body, but has firm consistency. The wine is nearly balanced but a bit more fruit would smooth it out nicely. With its medium finish, this Cabernet Sauvignon is ready to drink. No need to store it, so drink it now. |
