Small production and attention to detail is what you can
expect from Signorello. Their 2004 Syrah is from estate
fruit and they blend in Viognier (4%) to heighten the floral
aromas. The wine shows a dark ruby purple color. The nose is
full of rich aromas of blueberry and blackberry along with
toast and vanilla from the oak. Also detected where hints of
clove and nutmeg. In the mouth the wine is equally pleasing
offering fine grained tannins - that are a bit dusty
mid-palate - but integrated nicely in the wine. The ample
body saturates the mouth with flavors that follow the nose.
The wine is showing plenty of youth. Overall, this is a
wonderful Syrah offering finesse in aroma and flavor and
nice balance. It parts with a solid finish. |
