A new favorite of mine from Australia that's sure to please
many palates is Waterwheel's 2004 Memsie. It's a blend of
Shiraz (71%), Cabernet Sauvignon (22%) and Malbec (7%) - all
from the Bendigo wine growing region in south east
Australia. The wine starts you off with a dark/opaque ruby purple color. The rich hues look tasty and by the time you nose the wine you're certain it will be tasty. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and black currant lavish about with hints of spice, smoke, dust and meat. In the mouth the wine is delicious. Rich fleshy ripe dark skin fruit flavors envelope the palate. The silky tannins provide a nice balanced backbone in a robust body. The wine crosses the palate with a concentrated intensity and parts with a nice warm spicy finish that loves to linger. Memsie is worthy of loving! |
