This is my second vintage tasting of Rosenblum's San
Francisco Bay Mourvedre and it is as equally pleasing as the
first. The 2003 wine starts off with a dark to opaque ruby
core that fades out to a rose colored rim. There is plenty
to like in the nose. Aromas of chocolate and strawberries
blend well with cinnamon and cracked black pepper. With
hints of violets/roses and plums, you'll quickly realize
that there's a lot going on in the nose of this wine. In the
mouth, the palate is treated to a mellow sweetness up front
and smooth tannins with a velvety texture through
mid-palate. The ample body offers a solid structure, nice
balance and strong intensity. The warmness of this wine is
sensuous and distinct and says good-bye with a slow parting. |
