Keep them coming is all I can say about Rosenblum's single
vineyard Zins! The 2001 Richard Sauret Vineyard starts off
with plenty of pleasing color. The ruby core is totally
opaque yet fades nicely out to an orange/garnet rim. The
nose is chocker block full of aromas ranging from black
currant, cassis, dark chocolate and black pepper to smoky
wood, cigar/pipe tobacco and cigar box. In the mouth, the
palate gets a good grip from big tannins that are a touch
drying. An ample body offers rich consistency, solid
structure and distinct intensity. A bit of age offers a
developed complexity that this wine is currently showing.
Sensuous overall and, oh, so enjoyable! |
