Seems like the unoaked Chardonnay is finding many friends these days. Having been a fan of the unoaked versions from down under the last few years, I am happy to see some select California producers taking note and releasing their own unoaked Chardonnays. Sebastiani's 2005 has a clear light greeny straw color. The nose is all about fruit, with nice citrus notes of lemon, pear and apple. Like flavors are found in an ample body that has a rich consistency. Refreshing acidity and a lingering finish make this release a nice expression of Chardonnay fruit.
