A favorite wine of mine since 2002 has been Chappellet's
Mountain Cuvee. I recently tasted their 2004 vintage with
great satisfaction. The wine shows a dark ruby core which
fades to a purple rim. On the nose are aromas of blackberry,
black olive, cedar, leather, toffee and vanilla along with
hints of herbs. The wine shows a pure intensity on the
palate. Its refined complexity comes from an ample body with
velvety tannins. Sensuous overall and with a lingering
finish this is an exceptionally nice bottle of wine that
will be oh, so enjoyable with a proper meal! |
