I tasted this wine at the 2004 Family Winemakers of
California 14th annual tasting held at the Fort Mason Center
in San Francisco. This 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied Bordeaux blend that is rich and earthy with flavors of cocoa, cherries, and spice. The dusty tannins are nicely balanced with fresh acidity giving the wine a solid structure that begs to be paired with a nice cut of beef. Aged in French and American Oak barrels for 20 months, the wine's smooth and toasty oak attributes mingle well with the fruit flavors while lingering generously on the finish. Only 375 cases were produced so stock up now! |
