Well made Syrah is a favorite of mine. Signorello has done a wonderful job with their 2002 unfiltered Napa Valley Syrah. The wine shows a beautiful dark ruby core which fades nicely to a ruby/purple rim. The nose is treated to dark brambly fruit, black pepper and spice along with a hint of floral, cedar and barnyard. The berry flavor is intense in this full bodied Syrah. Fresh acidity and integrated tannins provide the wine a rich consistency and a solid structure. This top notch Syrah is harmoniously balanced, showing powerful intensity and a developed complexity which round out an elegant and generous finish.
