Marquis Philips 2002 Shiraz is wine dreams are made of. Keeping a step ahead of the Aussie tradition when it comes to producing big Shiraz wines, Sarah and Sparky Marquis did a wonderful job with this release. The wine shows a ruby core that fades to an orange rim. The nose is full of ripe blueberries, anise and menthol. The richness in flavor follows the nose. The rich body possesses a mellowed consistency with fine tannins that are lightly drying. There is plenty of structure with fresh acidity giving this wine a harmonious complexity and balance. With concentrated intensity, this is a best of breed Shiraz.
