The 2002 Chénas is a good example of what the Gamay varietal from Beaujolais can offer. The wine shows a brick red core that fades to an orange/amber rim. On the nose are aromas of ripe cherries, mocha, floral and a touch of leather. The palate enjoys plenty of cherry flavors. The medium body is well balanced with fresh acidity and fine drying tannins. The wine has a moderate but persistent finish and is ready to drink now. | |||||||
