Holly's Hill is one of my favorite producers in the Sierra
Foothills. A family affair from harvest to bottle, they
offer consistent quality and value. The 2002 El Dorado Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful wine for those of us who don't tend to like green or bell pepper aromas in our Cabernets. This big expressive Cabernet Sauvignon starts you off with an opaque ruby color. On the nose are distinct aromas of ripe berries, sweet smoke and hints of chocolate. The palate is treated to a full bodied wine that is well balanced with nicely integrated tannins. Overall, this is an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon that offers varietal intensity along with harmonious complexity. |
