During our recent visit to King Estate we were amazed by the
architectural beauty of the new tasting room. Sitting high
atop a hill you can enjoy a panoramic view of vineyards and
grassy fields whilst enjoying a fine glass of your favorite
wine. We purchased a 1.5 liter bottle of 1993 King Estate Pinot Noir with the intention of serving it during our Thanksgiving meal, though I did a tasting on the bottle prior to serving it. The wine is showing its age with a light to medium mahogany core that fades to a brick rim. After breathing the wine, there were aromas of fruit salad that mixed well with floral notes. Jammy strawberry and cherry were most noticeable. In the mouth, silky fine grained tannins provided good structure along with fresh acidity. Enjoyable flavors of berries were persistent on the finish. Overall, this 1993 Pinot Noir is drinking nicely and should be enjoyed now. |
