Madroña is a good representation of Sierra Foothill
Zinfandel. Their 2003 Zinfandel pours a medium dark ruby
core that fades to a ruby pinkish rim. The nose is filled
with distinct aromas of blackberry, black cherry and spice.
Keeping the nose interested are hints of floral/perfume. The
flavors follow the nose straight through the palate with
pleasant concentration. Silky tannins and low acidity offer
a soft mouth feel all in all producing a harmoniously
balanced wine. The finish is generous and tends to linger.
Overall, this is a good quality Zinfandel that is drinking
nicely. |
