Stone's Throw is produced by Thoma Family Vineyards located in St. Helena, California. Their 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent offering from this winery. The wine shows an opaque ruby core that fades to a light purple rim. The nose is treated to aromas of black berry, cinnamon, smoky spice and a hint of leather. In the mouth, the wine shines equally well offering black berry and black currant flavors within a well structured wine. Along with a firm consistency, the chalky tannins are medium-grained and slightly drying. The full structure gives this wine an ample body that crosses the palate parting with a solid finish and providing persistent length. Overall, this is a solid wine showing deep intensity while it's developing nicely.
