Ah, those wonderful Syrah wines from California! The Cuvaison 2003 Syrah is produced from fruit sourced from their estate located in Carneros, Napa Valley. The wine shows an opaque purple core that fades to a purple ruby rim. Aromas of aniseed, blueberry and black olive mix well with hints of mint and spice along with toast and vanilla. In the mouth, there is fresh acidity and integrated tannins that keep the wine harmoniously balanced. Its full body offers a rich supple consistency. This wine is showing plenty of youth and is aging rather nicely.
