| An enjoyable Gewurztraminer is the 2004 release from
Madroña. With an off-dry style, the wine has 0.3% residual
sugar - no where near sticky - and very food friendly. The
wine shows a clear lemon yellow color. The nose has subtle
aromas of honeysuckle, fig and hazelnuts. The palate is
coated with a full bodied wine with a velvety consistency
that offers up spicy flavors. The acidity is fresh and
lively and keeps the sugars in check while providing the
food-friendly backbone. The wine parts with a warm finish. |
