Having recently tasted the 2001 Juvenile, I was anxious to
see how their 2002 Juvenile would compare. There is a
noticeable difference predominately in the ripeness of the
fruit from the 2001 to the 2002 with the 2001 showing more
fruit as the wine has aged. The 2002 wine shows a medium ruby core that fades to an orange rim. The nose is treated to aromas of boysenberry and raspberry along with hints of clove and vanilla. In the mouth the full structure is balanced with rounded tannins wrapped within sinewy body. The wine shows a mellowed consistency on the palate and flavors follow the nose. Drink either vintage now. |
