This was a wonderful find a few years ago - I was fortunate enough to have a bottle or two left on the rack. With 6 years of age, the wine shows hints of age with a garnet core, fading to a orange/brick rim. The nose is full of dark skin fruit and light spice along with plenty of age characteristics like leather, wet tobacco, sweet smoke and vanilla. The palate is equally pleasing with smooth tannins (slightly drying), lively acidity and robust dark skin fruit flavors. The wine's balance flows nicely from beginning to a long finish. Overall, this wine is intense, yet, a developed vintage that is distinguished and smooth.
