Wine hedonists alert! Red Skye delivers with their 2001 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon.

This big expressive Cabernet Sauvignon starts you off with an opaque ruby garnet color. The nose is provided with plenty of aromatic satisfaction. Primary fruit aromas of black cherry and blackberry engulf themselves with sweet smoke, menthol, light spice (clove) and a touch of tobacco. After letting it breathe additional aromas of licorice and molasses are also noted.

But on the palate is where this wine's devotion to pleasure is smooth. Showing good extraction, it's rich body offers silky tannins delivering a fine astringency. Along with lively acidity the wine has layers of structure providing physique and style. The wine delivers plenty of concentrated flavors that are consistent with the aromas. The abundance of fruit along with acidity and tannins keeps every component in balance. Generous alcohol at 15.6% adds to it's heft without overpowering. The wine will continue to improve with bottle aging or will drink well near term.

While lazing around with the solid finish that tends to linger, your palate will revel in the rich sensuous nature of this wine. It's easy to love a wine that turns your palate into a hammock!
