With the 2000 vintage, Bordeaux wines have received many
accolades. Agreeably, it was an outstanding vintage. Chateau
Plaisance is from the Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux
appellation, which runs along the Garonne River opposite
Graves. From this appellation you generally get decent
quality as well as good value. Chateau Plaisance's 2000 vintage shows a dark ruby core that fades to a shade of mahogany along the rim. The nose finds aromas of black currants, licorice and stewed rhubarb. In the mouth, the wine has powdery tannins and lively acidity and holds a constant intensity. The wine is balanced with a pleasant supple consistency. Overall, this is a good wine that's developing and will continue to do so for a few more years. |
