Having been a fan of Fort Ross's Pinotage for the last few
vintages, I was pleased to find their Symposium. The
Symposium is a Pinot Noir from the Fort Ross Vineyard with a
small amount of Pinotage blended in as well. The wine shows
a medium ruby core that fades to a garnet rim. On the nose
are aromas of black currants, cherries, mocha, barnyard and
toasty smoke with hints of leather. Soft light tannins and
fresh acidity keep the ample body in shape. The wine has a
flowing balance and a delicate intensity that parts with a
medium finish. 294 cases produced. |
