The Australian Premium Wine Collection does not represent a
single Australian producer. Instead, Proprietor John Larchet
offers a collection of wines from 21 different producers in
16 distinct wine growing regions or sub-regions. Hill of Content is from John Larchet's own estate. The 2001 Grenache/Shiraz blend was produced from fruit sourced from Clare Valley (83%) as well as McLaren Vale (17%). The results are a wonderfully drinking red that is easy on the pocketbook. The wine shows a dark ruby core and generously provides aromas of raspberries and strawberries along with spicy pepper. The raspberry aromas follow through providing well defined flavor for the palate. The wine has a smooth luscious mouth feel from beginning to middle to end. The lively acidity and soft light tannins makes this a great spicy food wine. It's definitely ready to drink now so go ahead and indulge yourself. |
