The 2003 Lodi Barbera is a delicious Italian varietal worthy of enjoyment. The wine shows a medium ruby red color that is consistent out to the rim. The nose offers aromas of sweet smoky oak along with vanilla, ripe dark berry fruit and floral notes. Dark cherry flavors make their way to the palate along with silky tannins and fresh acidity. This Barbera has a nice lingering finish and beckons to be paired with some wonderful homemade Italian dishes.
