Oregon Pinot Gris is often delicious and the 2003 Firesteed
certainly is no exception. The wine shows a light peach
color with hints of grey out to the rim. On the nose are
distinct aromas of citrus blended with floral notes. The
citrus flavor is deliciously present on the palate. The wine
has a somewhat soft mouth feel through mid-palate, and its
fresh acidity assures that the wine parts with a clean
lingering finish. Also noticeable are slight tannins
offering nice structure to the wine. After a formal tasting,
the wine was then paired with havarti cheese with excellent
results. |
