Aliento Del Sol offers their 1999 Pinot Noir produced from fruit sourced in Arroyo Seco, Monterey, at the Loma Vista Vineyard. Showing a medium ruby core, the wine fades to a brick rim. The nose is loaded with ripe, even jammy, strawberry. Plenty of that strawberry aroma makes its way to the palate, which is treated to soft tannins and fresh acidity. The luscious body is developed and in parting the wine lingers on the finish revealing a bit of baked rhubarb. Tasty enough to be dessert!
