This 2003 Syrah is produced from fruit harvested in the Shenandoah Valley. The wine shows a medium ruby color and the nose reveal aromas of eucalyptus and menthol along with stewed fruit mixed with blueberries after a bit of breathing. In the mouth the wine exhibits lively acidity mixed with light tannins. The light body has a soft consistency along with a slight burnt flavor from time spent in wood. Its medium finish is clean and straight forward. While it's close to being balanced, this wine needs some time to age and to come into it's own.
