Dry Creek Vineyard produced this 2001 Old Vines Zinfandel
from fruit sourced within Sonoma County. They call it "Old
Vines" because the average age of the vines are 50 plus
years old. This wine shows a clear ruby red color. It is a blend of 80 percent Zinfandel and 20 percent Petite Sirah. Aromas of raspberry, spice and herbal are persistent along with light pencil shaving from the oak ageing. Fresh acidity and puckering astringency from aggressive tannins give the wine a bold presence on the palate along with a dry, and medium to short raspberry finish. |
