A delicious Chardonnay from one of my favorite boutique
California producers. Winemaker Barbara Spelletich
conscientiously and consistently produces single vineyard
wines that are distinguished among their peers. Spelletich Cellars 2001 Chardonnay fruit comes from Ghisletta Vineyard located in Los Carneros. The wine is barrel fermented and sur lie aged for 10 months in Hungarian & French Oak. The wine exhibits a clear medium straw yellow color. The nose is treated to distinct and concentrated aromas of banana, melon, pineapple and spice. Subtle oak derived aromas of spicy vanilla are elegantly layered within the wine. The palate is treated to fresh acidity with this rich, ample, and silky body chardonnay. The lingering finish is spicy and warm. Only 726 cases were produced so enjoy this wonderful Chardonnay while it lasts! |
