According to Bouchaine's website, Chene d'Argent means "silvery oak" and alludes to the unoaked and stainless steel fermented style of Chardonnay. It demonstrates what a pure and unadulterated Chardonnay tastes like when reared in silvery stainless steel vessels.

I generally fancy an unoaked Chardonnay over an oaked one. So it comes as no surprise that I liked Bouchaine's 2005 release. The wine posses a clear lemon yellow color. On the nose are subtle aromas of yellow delicious apples along with hints of melon and crisp citrus. The nice bright nose follows through to the palate. The wines lively acidity along with a medium body makes this a very drinkable Chardonnay. The persistent finish begs a second taste!
