Castle's Sonoma Valley Syrah shows a dark ruby core. The nose is treated to aromas of blackberries and plums along with meatiness and mushrooms. The mouth is treated to a food-friendly wine that offers zesty acidity and fine grained tannins that are soft and smooth. Rich flavors follow through from the nose in this medium-bodied wine. With firm consistency, the wine provides a nice and distinct intensity with good characteristics overall.
