Cabernet worth loving! J. Lohr's Carol's Vineyard 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is such a wine. The wine shows a dark ruby core fading to a violet/purple rim. Aromas of blackberry and black currants mix delightfully with chocolate, cigar box, spice, toast and even some cooked beets. The wine has a rich body and powerful intensity when lavished upon the palate providing almost an ethereal complexity. Silky tannins are well integrated helping to provide an austere structure that shows a harmonious balance. Enjoy the lingering finish because it likes to lounge around. Yes, there is still plenty of time left to enjoy this vintage. Very distinguished overall - kudos!
