Van Duzer produces outstanding Oregonian Pinot Noir. My recent tasting of their 2003 Willamette Valley Estate release was ever so pleasing to the senses. The wine shows a medium ruby core that fades to a purple ruby rim. The nose is full of intense aromas of black cherry, clove, leather, dried flowers and hints of tobacco. In the mouth, the wine boasts a solid structure sporting a lean stringy body whose firm consistency is supported by lively acidity and chalky tannins. The wine has a warm and persistent finish, reminding you again of its distinct intensity and sophisticated complexity. This is a very noble Pinot Noir that's developing nicely.
