Imagine yourself sitting atop a high point far from city lights where the night sky is dark black yet brightly lighted by the many stars in the galaxy. You sit star gazing pondering the big questions of life. To further romanticize this picture, you have in your hand a nice glass of Cab' - make that Starry Night's 2000 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - 5 years old and aging nicely. Wait a minute you think - "Hey, I'm not the outdoor type." We can work with that as well. Picture yourself sitting in front of a beautiful filet mignon eyeing that same glass of Cabernet Sauvignon...

Starry Night's 2000 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows a deep, even opaque core that fades to a mahogany rim. Its captivating color beckons your senses and your nose begins the enjoyable task of discerning this wine's aromas. The nose is treated to concentrated aromas of bing cherries that are layered with chocolate, sweet smoke and cinnamon spice along with light notes of tobacco, menthol and cedar. On your palate, the flavors are consistent with the aromas. Refreshing acidity, fine light tannins and the wine's firm ample body all balance nicely together. The finish is generous with distinct intensity revealing its well developed complexity. This is a good quality Cabernet Sauvignon that's drinking nicely now, however if you like you can give it some time. There's still plenty of youth in this vintage, and it should provide plenty of enjoyable drinking time ahead as well. Approximately 110 cases made.
