Starry Night's 2002 Terre Vermeille Vineyard from Lake
County is a big and expressive Zinfandel that shows a ruby
color with opaque intensity. On the nose are luscious aromas
of wild berries, blackberries, black pepper and smoky oak
with a touch of pencil shavings that waft from the glass
with a persistent intensity.
But it is on the palate that this wine shows it talent. Rich
flavors follow the nose and are enveloped within a tight
structure. Smooth round tannins and lively acidity keeps the
body lean. Generous alcohol at 15.6% provides warmth and
softness to the body and is well balanced with the other
elements. The wine has a long persistent finish and is very
agreeable with the palate.
Approximately 295 cases made.
